Abstract

The automatic parking system, to facilitate the parking attendances, needs to display a clear, efficient and precise information about parking area. The purpose of this study is to design and create a parking control system for cars which has automatic controlled capacity using the system control of AVR microcontroller Atmega 8535 with Seven Segment display in Mega Mall parking lot, Batam. The design consists of two parts, namely hardware and software. The hardware includes the manufacture of the car park building design, seven segment displays, seven segment driver circuit schematic, Microcontroller 8535, and ultrasonic sensors. Meanwhile the software includes the manufacture of microcontroller 8535 program consisting of AVR Studio 4 program. The ultrasonic sensor can read the distance if object is detected by trigger signal transmitted by the transmitter and the echo signal received. It also uses main display and display per floor using Common Anode Seven Segment. This kind of seven segment is chosen in order microcontroller can be absorbing. It means to turn on the LED, the microcontroller just issued a logic LOW or in this case the microcontroller function becomes GND. In addition, the AVR Studio 4 programming language and the PCB track using sprit layout are used.  However, this study and design can be improved using extranet system so that more sensors per floor can be applied.
