Stress Level, Essential HypertensionAbstract
Hypertension can affect almost all groups of people throughout the world. The number of people suffering from hypertension continues to increase from year to year. Indonesia is one of the population affected by hypertension (Susilo, Wulandari, 2011). Based on the pre-survey conducted at the Baloi Permai health center in Batam City in 2015, there were 242 people suffering from hypertension consisting of 146 women and 96 men and those who suffered stress as many as 8 people. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between stress levels and essential hypertension in patients in the work area of Baloi Permai Health Center, Batam City. The design in this study used an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in the study were patients who experienced essential hypertension. The sampling technique using convenience sampling. A sample of 40 people. This study uses a Miller & Smith scale questionnaire sheet and a checklist sheet (secondary data). The analysis in this study uses univariate analysis to see the frequency distribution and bivariate analysis by Chi-Square. The results of statistical tests using the Chi-Square test obtained p-value = 0.00 (<0.05). It can be concluded that H0 is rejected, meaning that there is a significant relationship between the relationship of stress levels and essential hypertension in patients. It is expected that patients who experience hypertension more control of stress experienced so that hypertension can be more controlled.ÂReferences
