Relationship of Knowledge about Hypertension with Management of Non-Pharmacological Hypertensive Disease (Low Salt Diet) at Puskesmas Sei Langkai in 2020

Hypertension can be defined as systolic pressure over 140 mmhg and diastolic pressure over 90 mmhg. the incidence of hypertension in Indonesia tends to increase every year. in Batam the largest incidence of hypertension in 2019 amounted to 13,682 the highest in Sei Langkai Health Center. Based on the results of the researcher interviews on 30 hypertensive patients. The results of the interview were 17 people who did not do a lowsalt diet. Many factors that cause hypertension one of them is excessive consumption of salt. The purpose of the study is known to link knowledge of hypertension with a low-salt diet. The research design uses analytical surveys with the approach used is retrospective. The research population is hypertensive patients who conduct treatment at Sei Langkai Health Center. The sampling technique used is Purposive sampling, the number of samples in this study as much as 30 people. Research tools are observation sheets for hypertension and and questionnaires for low-salt diets. The location of this research is at Sei Langkai Health Center. The research time was conducted from 06 - 20 August 2020. Data is processed and analyzed using statistics with a computer. There was the most data on hypertension knowledge of 17 people and 13 people on a low-salt diet. The chi-square test showed a P value of 0.01 < 0.05 meaning ha was accepted there is a relationship of hypertension knowledge with a low-salt diet in patients at Sei Langkai Health Center. It is expected that in the next study to conduct research on other factors such as race, lifestyle (low level of education, stress, obesity, coronary artery disease, and others).References
