Abstract

Energy audit is a systematic method for evaluating the utilization of electrical energy in a building with the aim of identifying potential efficiency improvements and cost savings. In educational buildings, electrical energy consumption is relatively high due to the use of electronic equipment, lighting systems, air conditioning, and devices supporting academic and administrative activities. This study integrates an electrical energy audit with economic analysis to provide a comprehensive overview of operational efficiency and energy sustainability within educational building environments. The results show that by implementing energy conservation measures, electricity usage efficiency can be improved by up to 15–25%, with significant potential savings in operational costs. Economic feasibility analysis using indicators such as payback period, net present value (NPV), and internal rate of return (IRR) demonstrates that the implementation of energy efficiency technologies—such as LED lighting, inverter-based cooling systems, and load management—has a positive impact not only on technical aspects but also on financial performance. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for energy efficiency policy in educational buildings in Indonesia.
