In the first stage of labor, the duration of labor dilation in primigravida mothers differs from that in multigravida mothers. This can be due to the mother's lack of experience in the labor process. The cause of the prolonged period of labor can be due to inadequate labor. Good contractions will facilitate the delivery process. In this study, a method that can be done to increase labor is by stimulating the nipples. This activity can be done by rubbing around the breasts or by gently massaging the nipples. The purpose of this stimulation is to trigger the release of the hormone oxytocin, which can help increase contractions and accelerate labor dilation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nipple stimulation on labor duration in primiparous mothers in the Baloi Permai Community Health Center Work Area, Batam City in 2025. The research method used is quantitative research. The research design uses a group comparison design, with one group of the Control group that was not given treatment and one group in the Intervention Group that was given nipple stimulation treatment, the sample in this study was 30 primiparous mothers, the sampling technique used total sampling. Results and conclusions: after data analysis, a p value of 0.02 was obtained, which means p <0.05. This shows that there is an effect of nipple stimulation on the length of first stage of labor in the Baloi Permai Community Health Center Working Area, Batam City in 2025.

Keywords: Nipple Stimulation, Duration of Labor, Primipara, Mother in Labor
Intan Dwi RahayuSilvia MonaMiftahul Jannah

Menarche is the first menstrual event for a woman and needs special attention, because it marks the beginning of a woman's maturity. Their ignorance of reproductive health can cause various diseases such as reproductive tract infections. Health promotion is carried out by adopting poster media as a means of conveying information. Posters are image media that combine visual elements such as lines, images and words to attract attention and simple but effective designs are proven to be able to optimize the appeal of posters for general students. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of health education using poster media on the knowledge of young women in facing menarche. The research method uses a one-group pretest-posttest design approach, on 30 young women with a sampling technique using total sampling and using a knowledge questionnaire about menarche to measure the level of knowledge of young women about menarche. The results of the study obtained the level of knowledge of adolescent girls before being given health education (20.30), and after being given health education (22.20),) P value was 0.001 < 0.05, so. so there was a significant difference in the level of knowledge of adolescent girls before and after being given health education through poster media.
ABSTRACT

Early marriage, also known as young marriage, refers to marriage that occurs when one or both partners are still under the age of 19. Teenage girls who marry at an inappropriate age are at risk of experiencing reproductive health and mental health problems, such as the possibility of experiencing complications during childbirth or the risk of death during childbirth between 35 and 55 percent. Social media is one of the most popular platforms among teenagers, where one of the negative impacts of social media for teenagers is early marriage. For this reason, researchers conducted a study on the relationship between social media use and teenage girls' knowledge of the risks of early marriage. This study is a cross-sectional study, where the study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between social media use and adolescent girls' knowledge of the risks of early marriage. The population in this study was 60 adolescent girls at SMAN 1 Kuala Kampar. The data obtained were then analyzed and data presentation was carried out systematically. The results of this study will be processed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square statistical test using a statistical program with a significance level value of α = 0.05.

Keywords: Social Media, Young Women, Risk of Early Marriage
Dian Dwi PratiwiSarmauli Franshisca SihombingT.
ABSTRACT

Approximately 72% of mothers who give birth normally experience perineal wounds, with 35% of them experiencing slow wound healing due to lack of optimal postpartum care. OUKUP therapy of clove leaves and nutmeg based on herbal steam is effective in accelerating the healing of perineal wounds naturally. This study aims to determine the effect of complementary therapy OUKUP clove leaves and nutmeg on perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers. The research method uses a quasi-experimental approach, with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were all postpartum mothers who experienced perineal wounds grade I-II. The number of samples consisted of 32 respondents, where the sample was divided into 2 so that it became 16 people for each group. The study shows that oukup therapy accelerates perineal wound healing (5 days) compared to the control (8 days), with a significant difference (p = 0.001). So it can be concluded that there is an effect of complementary therapy OUKUP clove leaves and nutmeg on perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers. Midwives are advised to consider implementing evidence-based complementary therapies and provide education on the use of clove and nutmeg leaf-based therapies.

Keywords: OUKUP, Clove leaf, nutmeg, perineal wounds, postpartum
Rina HarianiRisqi UtamiDian Juni Ekasari

ABSTRACT

Stunting remains a major global public health concern that impedes human development. In Indonesia, the 2023 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI) reported a stunting prevalence of 19.6%. Early intervention during the preconception period is essential to ensure effective and sustainable outcomes. Prospective brides, particularly future mothers, play a critical role in stunting prevention by understanding its long-term impacts and adopting a balanced, nutritious diet to support optimal maternal and child health. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of information dissemination on the knowledge and attitudes of prospective brides regarding stunting prevention within the working area of Sei Jang Public Health Center, Tanjungpinang City. A quasi-experimental study design was employed, using a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. A total of 42 prospective brides participated and received health education through structured feedback sheets. A paired t-test was used to assess the impact of the intervention on knowledge and attitudes. The findings revealed a significant increase in both knowledge and attitude scores following the intervention. The mean knowledge score increased from 13.21 (pre-test) to 18.86 (post-test), while the mean attitude score rose from 27.48 to 42.07. Bivariate analysis indicated a statistically significant effect of the stunting education intervention on both variables (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05).

Keywords : stunting prevention, health information, prospective brides

Anjani NurhasanahPrasida YunitaNova Roza

The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is still high globally and nationally, with bleeding and infection due to perineal rupture as the main causes. Primigravida are at greater risk of experiencing perineal rupture. Perineal massage has been proven to be effective in increasing tissue elasticity, thereby reducing the incidence of perineal rupture and labor complications. This study aims to determine the effect of perineal massage on primigravida on the incidence of perineal rupture during labor. This study is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The population is all primigravida pregnant women with a gestational age of 34-36 weeks who visit the UPTD Baloi Permai Health Center. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and obtained a sample of 18 respondents. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS. The results showed that most respondents in the treatment group did not experience perineal rupture (77.8%), while in the control group most experienced second-degree perineal rupture (66.7%). The statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.002 < α 0.05, indicating that perineal massage significantly reduces the incidence of perineal rupture. Healthy pregnant women of reproductive age (20–35 years) are recommended to perform regular perineal massage starting at 34 weeks of gestation using proper technique. This practice increases muscle elasticity, improves blood flow, and prepares the tissues for childbirth, thereby reducing the risk of perineal rupture.

Keywords: Perineal massage, rupture, Primigravida
Desi Afrina SimamoraDevy Lestari Nurul AuliaDyka Aidina

ABSTRACT

The common cold is one of the most frequent upper respiratory tract infections among toddlers, characterized by symptoms such as cough, runny nose, fever, and irritability, which may interfere with comfort and reduce quality of life. Non-pharmacological management, such as massage therapy, is believed to reduce symptoms by improving circulation, relaxation, and immune stimulation. However, the effectiveness of massage in alleviating common cold symptoms in toddlers still requires further evidence. This study aimed to determine the effect of massage on reducing common cold symptoms among toddlers in the working area of Kampung Bugis Public Health Center in 2025. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. A total of 30 toddlers who met the inclusion criteria were selected and divided into intervention and control groups. Data collection used an observation sheet assessing common cold symptoms including cough frequency, runny nose, fever, and sleep disturbances. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test for within-group comparison and the Mann-Whitney test for between-group differences. The results showed a significant reduction in symptoms in the intervention group before and after massage, with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). No significant change was found in the control group (p = 0.143). Between-group comparison revealed a significant difference (p = 0.001), indicating that massage was effective in reducing common cold symptoms among toddlers. In conclusion, massage has a significant effect on reducing common cold symptoms in toddlers.
