This study highlights the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for infant growth and development, as well as reducing the risk of disease. Although the WHO and UNICEF recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of a baby's life, coverage in Indonesia has not yet met the established targets. Contributing factors to this low coverage include a lack of knowledge among mothers about breastfeeding and breast care. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of audiovisual education in improving postnatal mothers' knowledge about breast care and supporting the success of exclusive breastfeeding. The research method employed a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest design on a group of postnatal mothers. An audiovisual educational intervention was provided, and knowledge about breast care and exclusive breastfeeding practices were measured before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant increase in mothers' knowledge about breast care from 40% to 80%, and exclusive breastfeeding coverage increased from 60% to 90% after the intervention. The Wilcoxon test indicated that this increase was significant with a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000. In conclusion, audiovisual education is an effective method for improving postnatal mothers' knowledge about breast care and supporting the success of exclusive breastfeeding. This effort is expected to contribute to increased coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia, supporting optimal infant growth and development, and reducing infant morbidity and mortality rates
Talitha Harlina, Risqi Utami, Tri Ribut Sulistyawati Copyright (c) 2025 Talitha Harlina, Risqi Utami, Tri Ribut Sulistyawati https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://ejurnal.univbatam.ac.id/index.php/zonabidan/article/view/1744 Wed, 14 May 2025 00:00:00 +0800 EFEKTIFITAS PEMBERIAN AROMATERAPI LEMON TERHADAP IBU HAMIL TRIMESTER PERTAMA DENGAN EMESIS GRAVIDARUM https://ejurnal.univbatam.ac.id/index.php/zonabidan/article/view/1745
Pregnancy is a physiological process that causes physical, mental and social changes and is often accompanied by discomfort, especially nausea and vomiting in the first trimester caused by an increase in the hormones estrogen and HCG. One therapy that is safe and can be given to pregnant women who experience emesis gravidarum is by providing lemon aromatherapy. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of lemon aromatherapy in first trimester pregnant women with emesis gravidarum at the Independent Practice of Midwife Lusia Herawaty, S.Keb in 2024. This research uses a Quasi Experimental research design in one group (one group pre test post test). The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample size of 21 pregnant women and data collection used observation sheets. The results showed that the average frequency of nausea and vomiting before being given lemon aromatherapy was 8.62 and after being given lemon aromatherapy was 3.48, p value = 0.000 (P < 0.05). Based on statistical results, it can be concluded that there is effectiveness of lemon aromatherapy in reducing emesis gravidarum in first trimester pregnant women at PMB Lusia Herawaty, S.Keb in 2024. Education on stress management is a crucial effort to enhance midwives' knowledge and attitudes in providing optimal midwifery services. This study was conducted at RS Budi Kemuliaan Kota Batam, which includes various midwifery service units such as the 24/7 PONEK room, delivery room, midwifery clinic, postpartum room, and perinatal room. Each unit faces different work pressures, making stress management skills essential for midwives. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of education on midwives' knowledge and attitudes regarding stress management techniques. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest method was employed. The study sample consisted of 30 midwives, selected through total sampling. The instruments used were knowledge and attitude questionnaires, which were tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis included normality tests, which indicated normal distribution, followed by paired t-tests to assess the differences in knowledge and attitudes before and after the educational intervention. The results showed a significant improvement in midwives' knowledge and attitudes after the education (ρ-value < 0.05). The average knowledge score increased from 12.13 to 14.90, while the average attitude score increased from 13.10 to 16.00. The conclusion of this study is that education on stress management effectively enhances midwives' knowledge and attitudes. The practical implication is the need for regular education programs to support midwives' ability to manage stress, thereby continuously improving the quality of midwifery services.

Helen Kristanti, Devy Lestari Nurul Aulia Copyright (c) 2025 Helen Kristanti, Devy Lestari Nurul Aulia https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://ejurnal.univbatam.ac.id/index.php/zonabidan/article/view/1746 Wed, 14 May 2025 00:00:00 +0800 EFEKTIVITAS PEMBERIAN JUS BUAH NAGA TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KADAR HEMOGLOBIN REMAJA PUTRI DI SMPN 6 BATAM https://ejurnal.univbatam.ac.id/index.php/zonabidan/article/view/1775
Anemia is a medical condition hemoglobin is less than normal limits. Long labor is caused by inadequate uterine contractions (his) so that the opening of the cervix is slow which results in the mother experiencing fatigue and exhaustion. Inadequate uterine contractions can cause intrapartum and postpartum bleeding. Acupressure produces the hormone oxytocin, which can accelerate the opening of the first stage of labor and affect the progress of labor. One of the acupressure points that can be applied to accelerate the progress of labor is at point LI4. This cross-sectional research involved 256 students aged 15-18 years selected through stratified random sampling from five public high schools. Data were collected using validated questionnaires for reproductive health knowledge and risky sexual behavior. Data analysis used chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression. Results showed that 64.8% of respondents had adequate reproductive health knowledge, while 35.2% had inadequate knowledge. Statistical analysis revealed a significant relationship between reproductive health knowledge and risky sexual behavior (p=0.001; OR=3.28; 95% CI: 1.92-5.61), indicating that adolescents with inadequate knowledge were 3.28 times more likely to engage in risky sexual behavior. The relationship remained significant after controlling for variables such as age, gender, parental communication, peer influence, and access to information.
