This study aims to analyze the relationship between exposure to cigarette smoke, duration of exposure, and obesity status concerning the risk of COPD at Hj. Bunda Halimah Hospital, Batam.</em></p> <p><strong>Methods: </strong><em>This research uses an analytical observational study design with a cross-sectional approach, utilizing secondary data from medical records. The sample was purposively selected from 91 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The independent variables analyzed include exposure to cigarette smoke, duration of exposure, and obesity status, while the dependent variable is the risk of COPD. This research is expected to increase awareness and motivation to quit smoking or reduce the duration of exposure.</em></p> <p><strong>Results: </strong><em>Analysis results using the Chi-square test indicate a significant relationship between exposure to cigarette smoke (p<0.001) and duration of exposure with the risk of COPD (p<0.001). However, no significant relationship was found between obesity status and the risk of COPD (p=0.552). Self-care is crucial for controlling blood sugar, avoid complications, and improving quality of life. However, many patients still experience difficulties due to limited knowledge, support, and financial resources. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the relationship between self-care and quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Tanjung Buntung Community Health Center.</em></p> <p><strong>Methods:</strong> <em>This study used a cross-sectional design and quantitative analysis with a sample of 250 type 2 diabetes patients using purposive sampling. The instruments used were the </em>DSCA<em> and </em>WHOQOL-BREF<em>, and data were analyzed using the Spearman test.</em></p> <p><strong>Results:</strong> <em>There was a significant correlation between self-care and quality of life (p = 0.020). Patients with optimal self-care skills tended to have better disease control, a lower risk of complications, and a longer life expectancy.</em><strong>Conclusion:</strong> <em>Self-care impacts the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The prevalence of neck pain is quite high and one of the leading causes of work-related disability in many countries. One important contributing factor is non-ergonomic work posture, particularly among employees who use computers for prolonged periods.</em></p> <p><strong>Methods: </strong><em>This research employed a descriptive analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was total sampling, with a total of 75 respondents. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Fisher Exact statistical test to examine the relationship between work posture and neck pain complaints.</em></p> <p><strong>Results: </strong><em>The results found a significant relationship between work posture and neck pain complaints among computer-using employees at the Regional Revenue Office of Batam City in 2025. Major risk factors suspected to contribute to inguinal hernia include age, body mass index (BMI), and types of occupation that increase intra-abdominal pressure. This study aims to determine the relationship between age, BMI, and occupation with the incidence of inguinal hernia at Budi Kemuliaan Hospital, Batam City.</em></p> <p><strong>Methods: </strong><em>This research used a retrospective Case-Control study design based on medical records from 2022 to 2024. The sample consisted of 162 patients, comprising 81 patients with inguinal hernia (case group) and 81 patients with other types of hernia (control group). Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test and Odds Ratio (OR) calculation.</em></p> <p><strong>Results: </strong><em>The results showed a significant relationship between age (p=0.000) and occupation (p=0.000) with the incidence of inguinal hernia. However, awareness and knowledge about BSE remain low, especially among university students. Health promotion through animated video media is an effective educational method to improve knowledge and attitudes related to BSE.</em></p> <p><strong>Methods: </strong><em>This study used a pre-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 65 female students from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Batam, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire measuring knowledge and attitudes before and after the intervention.
