Sustainable development necessitates the integration of environmentally friendly concepts and advanced technologies to minimize environmental impacts. This study explores the optimization of smart building technologies in green buildings to reduce carbon footprints through IoT-based automation systems. Building Automation Systems (BAS) play a crucial role in efficiently managing energy consumption, lighting, and HVAC systems. Using a SWOT analysis approach, this research evaluates the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of implementing smart buildings in Indonesia. Despite high initial implementation costs, the ecological and economic benefits render smart buildings a strategic solution for sustainable development in tropical cities.Downloads
