Abstrak

The preservation of historic building materials plays a strategic role in supporting sustainable development, particularly in the sectors of cultural and religus tourism. The background of this study is the increasing need for tourism development that is not only focuses on economic growth, but also considers social sustainability, enviromental preservation, and the protection of local cultural values that are increasingly marginalized in the modern era.. The main issues examined is how the physical preservation of historic building materials can support the sustainability of tourism areas without eliminating the authentic, historical, and spiritual values of the preserved objects. This study aims to identify and analyze the contribution of material preservation to strenghthening of cultural identity, improving the enviromental quality of tourism sites, and sustaining the local economy based on cultural and religious potential. The method used is a literature study by reviewing various scholarly sources such as academic journouls, articles, research reports, and relevant policy documents. The results of the study show that the preservation of building materials not only maintains the originaliity of form, historical value, and architectural aesthetics, but also supports building energy efficiency through thermal insulation, cross ventilation, and natural lighting. In addition, as well as encourage community participation in cultural conservation. Thus, the preservation of historic building materials is an essential component in the strategy of developing inclusive, sustainable, and locally based cultural and religious tourism.
