Abstrak

Background: Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) remain a global health issue with significant impacts on adolescents, including in Indonesia. Low knowledge and attitudes toward reproductive health can increase the risk of STDs among teenagers. Therefore, reproductive health education is essential to raise awareness about these diseases. This study aims to analyze the effect of reproductive health education on the knowledge and attitudes of students at SMA Negeri 16 Batam regarding Sexually Transmitted Disease. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-post-test approach. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, consisting of 42 intervention group samples and 42 control group samples. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test to determine differences in knowledge and attitudes before and after the health education intervention. Results: The study found that in the intervention group (which received the intervention), there was an increase in knowledge (p=0.000<0.05) and attitudes (p=0.000<0.05). In contrast, in the control group (which did not receive the intervention), there was no significant effect on knowledge (p=0.441>0.05) and attitudes (p=0.071>0.05). Conclusion: Reproductive health education effectively increases the knowledge and attitudes of students at SMA Negeri 16 Batam regarding Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
