PENGARUH PROMOSI KESEHATAN MELALUI VIDEO EDUKASI PENCEGAHAN GOUT ARTHRITIS TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP LANSIA DI UPTD PUSKESMAS PULAU LAUT KABUPATEN NATUNA 2024

Abstrak

Background: Gout Arthritis is a metabolic disorder commonly experienced by the elderly, characterized by joint pain due to uric acid crystal deposition. This condition significantly impacts the quality of life of sufferers. The global and national prevalence of Gout Arthritis continues to rise, including in Pulau Laut District, Natuna Regency, where the prevalence among the elderly reaches 11.9%. Methods: This study employed a Pre-Experimental design with a One Group Pretest-Posttest approach. The sample consisted of 91 elderly individuals from the working area of UPTD Pulau Laut Health Center. Data were collected using a questionnaire to measure knowledge and attitudes before and after health promotion through educational videos. Data analysis was conducted using the Paired Sample T-Test to evaluate the intervention's effects. Results: The Paired Sample T-Test showed a significant effect on knowledge (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05) and attitudes (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05) of the elderly after the intervention using educational videos. This finding indicates that educational videos effectively improve knowledge and attitudes regarding Gout Arthritis prevention. Conclusion: Health promotion through educational videos significantly influences the enhancement of knowledge and attitudes among the elderly in preventing Gout Arthritis. Educational videos are an effective medium for health promotion, particularly in the working area of UPTD Pulau Laut Health Center.
