Pregnancy is a natural process that occurs in a woman's uterus. To avoid LBW births (<2500 grams), a mother must maintain her physical condition by fulfilling her nutritional needs. Nutritional needs that increase during pregnancy also greatly affect maternal weight gain during pregnancy. Where the pre-survey data obtained from Camatha Sahitya Hospital, the number of LBW increased significantly, there were 15 babies (1.9%). The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between maternal weight gain during pregnancy and the weight of babies born in the Camatha Sahitya Hospital Midwifery Room, Batam City. The research design uses an analytical survey method with a case-control approach. The population in the study were 37 women who gave birth in the Midwifery Room of Camatha Sahitya Hospital in Batam City. The number of samples in the study was 37 respondents and the sampling technique was total sampling. This research was conducted in July 2013. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariate by computerization using Chi-square test. The results of the univariate research were maternal weight gain less than 7 kg as many as 14 respondents (37.8%), normal (7-12 Kg) as many as 15 respondents (40.5%) and more than 12 Kg as many as 8 respondents (21.6 %). While the weight of babies born was LBW as many as 4 respondents (10.8%), normal (2500-4000 grams) as many as 27 respondents (73%), and more than 4000 grams 6 respondents (16.2%). The bivariate results p-value 0.037 <0.05 means that Ho is rejected, meaning that there is a significant relationship between maternal weight gain during pregnancy and the weight of babies born in the Camatha Sahitya Hospital Midwifery Room, Batam City. Keywords: Pregnant Mother's Weight and baby's birth weightReferences
