The Potential Journal is a peer-reviewed journal managed by the Master of Regional Planning Study Program at Batam University. The Potential Journal aims to disseminate scientific information from research by students, lecturers, researchers, and observers of problems related to urban development and regional planning, emphasizing on physical and spatial planning, economic planning also social planning. Apart from these areas, the Journal of Regional Planning Potential also accepts texts covering topics including environmental planning, coastal planning, rural planning and transportation planning.

The Potential Journal accepts research manuscripts written in Indonesian or English. The Potential Journal accepts manuscripts from Indonesian authors and authors from various parts of the world.

This potential journal was first published in print media in March 2021 with two editions (March and September). March 2021 the volume 1, number 1 was published. A minimum of 5 articles per number in one volume is published in the Potential Journal.
